How is eGLWorks different from other accounting packages?
eGLWorks is an online accounting software with a thin, desktop-based user interface. We call eGLWorks an online software because the data is stored on a central server that enables users to access and/or share the data at anytime, from any location with Internet access. Online software packages generally require a user to interact via a web browser such as Internet Explorer. However, eGLWorks works like any Windows-based software, which means users need to install a small program to run eGLWorks on their machines. This provides an easy-to-use, speedy interface. By "thin" we refer to the size of its setup file, which is only 2MB and can be downloaded and installed in a matter of seconds. eGLWorks requires less than 3MB of hard disk space.
Is my data safe in your hands?
To ensure the safety of data we:
1. Back up the changes in your data every hour.
2. Create hard-disk based, full backups every three hours.
3. Create a tape backup every 24 hours.
How much will eGLWorks cost me and is it available in different editions?
eGLWorks is reasonably priced and comes in two edition: (1) Basic Edition, and (2) Plus Edition. Features include: check writing and printing deposit entry, bank reconciliation, and various reports. A handy audit trail eliminates users having to make reverse entries.

My computers are protected by a firewall. Will I need to make any changes?
No. eGLWorks does not require any special considerations. If your computer can access the Internet, eGLWorks is ready for use.
I maintain Books of Accounts for many clients. Can my clients review their accounts?
Yes! eGLWorks has been designed to facilitate sharing of information between accountants and their clients.
Can I use my own check numbers?
Yes. eGLWorks allows you to enter your own check numbers, including alpha-numeric characters.
Can I import data from other software packages?
Currently, data import is available for QuickBooks.
Yes. The invoice feature allows you to create invoices and track payments.
Can I close completed periods?
Yes. You can lock entries out of previously closed periods.
Can I modify the Chart of Accounts for each client?
Yes. The accountant is able to add and remove any account codes and replace them as desired.
Will I be able to file 940 and 941 reports?
Yes. eGLWorks automatically populates the forms with the data you enter. They are then ready to print, e-file, or send to your clients.
Does eGLWorks integrate with any tax software?
Yes. When you set up the Chart of Accounts, it allows you to indicate a line on the tax return for each account. When the year is finished, simply export the data to TaxWorks and your tax return will be ready for review and modification.
